Doctors at Floreasca Hospital are accused of failing to diagnose an infection in a patient with severe burns, even though she was treated with antibiotics.

A 37-year-old woman with burns over 70% of her body was diagnosed with the rare infection Candida auris 18 days after hospitalization, but this diagnosis was not officially recorded. The bacterial infections found, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, were not included in the observation sheet. The patient's transfer to Belgium was made only by donation and the Ministry of Health imposed quarantine at the hospital. Fines were imposed for non-compliance with cleaning and ventilation procedures. The College of Physicians is investigating and the Minister of Health is demanding the resignation of the head of the medical center.
