The Ministry of National Defense detected an aerial target 15 km from Reni, Ukraine, in the context of Russian drone attacks. A RO-Alert message was issued for the counties of Tulcea and Galați.

The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced on Friday evening that it detected an aerial object approximately 15 kilometers east of the town of Reni, Ukraine, around 6:00 PM.

This detection occurred in the context of drone attacks carried out by Russia on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the border with Romania.

Following this alert, the National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, activating measures to alert the population in the counties of Tulcea and Galați. A RO-Alert message was sent at 6:22 PM, informing citizens about the possible fall of objects from the airspace.

The Romanian Air Forces intervened with an IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter and two F-18 aircraft from the Spanish Air and Space Forces for an aerial reconnaissance mission.

Authorities recommended that the population adhere to safety measures and obtain information from official sources.
