Police in Prahova conducted seven home searches on Wednesday morning as part of an investigation into fraud through false messages, in which criminals pretended to be the children of the victims. The total estimated damage by investigators exceeds 80,000 lei. Between June and November 2025, the individuals involved used various phone numbers to send SMS messages, requesting sums of money under the pretext of mobile phone malfunctions and urgent payments.

These actions led to the acquisition of unjust property benefits. Following the searches, nine suspects were brought in for questioning, and the operation was supported by police from other counties.
