The County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Constanța is conducting three home searches in Medgidia, targeting individuals suspected of committing usury and blackmail.
According to investigations, between 2021 and 2025, three individuals allegedly obtained substantial benefits by providing loans with exorbitant interest rates, ranging from 100% to 400%. These activities were carried out outside the legal regulations for non-banking financial entities. To recover fictitious debts from the victims, the suspects allegedly resorted to threats, intimidation, and physical violence. The operation also involves fighters from the Special Operations Service of Constanța, and the investigations are coordinated by a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Medgidia Court.
