Military framework investigated for a fraud of 1.6 million lei with cryptocurrencies, searches in Bucharest and three other counties

Five searches were carried out in Bucharest and the counties of Ilfov, Brăila, and Constanța in a criminal case concerning the crime of continuous fraud. The target is an active military officer, suspected of orchestrating a scheme in which several individuals were convinced to invest significant amounts of money in an online cryptocurrency platform.

According to the data from the investigation, the funds collected from the victims were not invested but went directly into the suspect's personal accounts. So far, investigators estimate a damage of approximately 1,600,000 lei.
