The Sanitas Federation will start a Japanese-style strike on June 9, wearing armbands, to send a message to the authorities and request dialogue. The unionists threaten a general strike if the demands of health and social assistance employees are not taken into account.

Among the demands of the Federation are the establishment of a reference value of 4,325 lei, corrected salary coefficients, maintaining the tour bonus at 15% and the weekend bonus at 100%. Doctors within Sanitas, such as Toni Popescu, emphasize that Romania is facing a shortage of doctors, and bureaucracy affects the quality of medical services. The Sanitas Federation is ready to negotiate constantly to reach an agreement on the new salary law, which could affect over 1.2 million state employees.

This provides for significant changes in the salary structure, and the unionists do not accept a decrease in income. A general strike could have a major impact on citizens, and Sanitas reaffirms its commitment to fight for the rights of employees in the health system.
