The Vice President of Salvamont Romania raises an alarm about the personnel crisis: "8 out of 10 positions are unfilled. We have only 350 rescuers in the whole country."

Sebastian Marinescu, vice president of Salvamont Romania, drew attention to the problems faced by Salvamont services, including staff shortages and the financial pressure that mountain counties endure.

The activity of these services is fully funded from local budgets, which creates an imbalance between mountain counties and those without mountains. Marinescu proposes ensuring state budget funding for the salaries and training of operational staff.

He emphasizes that currently, the coverage of operational needs is only 17.85%, and rescuers are often called in during their free time. He requests clear regulations for the payment of overtime work and a unified national grid for risk compensations.

Marinescu highlights the importance of a real partnership between central and local administration to ensure the efficient functioning of Salvamont services.
