The interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that the works at the Iernut power plant, with a capacity of 430 megawatts, will begin next week, being directly contracted by Romgaz.
This decision comes after a series of delays and conflicts with Spanish contractors, which have lasted from 2016 until now. Bolojan emphasized the importance of this project for the national energy system, mentioning that, once the Iernut plant and the one in Mintia are completed, Romania will benefit from sufficient energy production to balance the national grid.
