The Romanian retail market saw intense activity in the first half of the year, with 162,000 sq.m. of projects completed, an increase of 60% on the previous year. The total stock of modern retail reached 4.73 million sqm, with a significant concentration in the Center-West and Bucharest. The density of retail space is increasing but remains among the lowest in Europe. Future projects will continue to develop this market, with deliveries expected to reach 700,000 sqm by the end of the decade. Rents have remained stable, with increases anticipated for some areas.
