The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, stated that Romania's accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is a major strategic objective for this year, having an impact comparable to joining NATO and the European Union. He emphasizes that the OECD will bring clear rules, functional institutions, and data-driven public policies, thus contributing to more efficient governance and increasing trust in the Romanian economy.

Nazare mentioned that Romania has made concrete progress towards accession, aiming to complete the process by 2026. The expected benefits include higher investments, reduced financing costs, and a more competitive economy. Additionally, the President of Romania confirmed the consensual support for this objective, highlighting the importance of joining the OECD for the stability and credibility of the Romanian economy.
