In the first quarter of 2026, Romanian users of Revolut abroad made international transfers worth 980 million euros to Romania, while the amounts sent from abroad exceeded 20 million euros, totaling over 4 million transfers. Germany and the United Kingdom remain the main sources of funds, contributing 223 million euros and, respectively, 173 million euros, which represents almost 40% of the total remittances. Ireland stands out with an average transaction value of 608 euros, nearly double that of the United Kingdom. This quarter marked a significant change, with Germany becoming Romania's main partner for remittances through Revolut, with 25% of international transfers coming from this country. Additionally, 22% of the total amount sent was destined for Germany.
