Romanian students performed exceptionally well at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad in Australia, winning two gold, three silver and one bronze medal. Pavel Ciurea and Emanuel Mazăre won gold medals, while Andrei Vila, David Ghibu and David-Vlad Mărghidan won silver medals and Radu Ionuț-Stoleriu won bronze. Romania's delegation was coordinated by professors from the University of Bucharest and other institutions, and the competition brought together 114 countries, making it the biggest school Olympiad ever.
