In the context of the summer season, the Romanian Police has issued a warning on the risks of swimming in dangerous places, after 6 cases of drowning were recorded in Craiova and Bucharest. Common causes include failure to respect designated areas, medical problems, exhaustion and alcohol consumption. Police are stepping up prevention and enforcement activities in recreational areas, encouraging citizens to swim only in safe places and to supervise children.
