Romania's government plans to accelerate its plan to renew its military fleet by replacing the 50-year-old IAR-330 Puma helicopters with H215M helicopters produced locally in partnership with Airbus. This initiative, hastened by the conflict in Ukraine, aims to purchase about 90 aircraft. Airbus has confirmed its readiness to start production in Romania, as it already has the necessary infrastructure. The company has also signed a memorandum with Ukroboronprom to train Ukrainian technicians.
