A Romanian man was caught with 17 counterfeit 50 euro banknotes at Otopeni Airport while trying to buy products.

The incident took place on August 29, when border police were alerted by a commercial operator about a man trying to use suspicious banknotes. Upon verification, it was found that the three banknotes presented were counterfeit, and following a detailed inspection, another 14 fake banknotes were discovered. The man, who was about to fly to Amsterdam, is now being investigated for circulating counterfeit currency.
