During a press conference, Raed Arafat, head of the Department for Emergency Situations, presented details about the equipment that Romania intends to purchase through the SAFE program, which has a budget of 900 million euros for civil protection.

Arafat emphasized that, although some equipment, such as the multi-role aircraft, cannot be manufactured in Romania, others, such as the special vehicles for transporting multiple victims, can be produced locally. He also mentioned that the special train for transporting victims, capable of carrying between 200 and 300 people, can be manufactured in Romania, including medical supplies. Arafat added that there are already framework agreements for some equipment, and the final amount spent in Romania will be determined following negotiations and subsequent procedures.
