Alexandru Rogobete, the Minister of Health, emphasized the urgent need for a malpractice law in Romania, which should not be a mere "patchwork", but a solid regulation that protects the dignity of medical staff and patients. In a statement to Medika TV, he highlighted the serious problems facing the healthcare system, including outbreaks of nosocomial infections and the lack of utilities in hospitals.
Rogobete requested technical assistance from the World Bank for the development of this law, wanting to avoid past mistakes and to use best practice models from other countries. He emphasized the importance of international expertise to ensure an effective and functional law that meets the real needs of the Romanian healthcare system.
