The latest data published by the National Institute of Statistics confirms that Romania is no longer predominantly a country of emigration, but rather of immigration: in 2024, for the third consecutive year, more people settled in Romania for a period longer than 12 months than those who emigrated. The migratory balance was 97,114 people in 2022, +66,065 people in 2023, +36,200 people in 2024.
