Ionuț Moșteanu, the Romanian Minister of Defense, stated that the amount paid by Romania for the interest on loans contracted this year exceeds the budget allocated for Defense. He emphasized that every additional leu allocated to one sector comes from the budget of another, highlighting the complexity of managing public funds.

Although he avoided providing details about the specific budget of the Army, Moșteanu stressed the importance of maintaining a budgetary balance and adhering to international commitments as a NATO member state. This situation raises questions regarding Romania's financial priorities in the context of national security.
