Florin Barbu, the Minister of Agriculture, stated that the publication of the OECD report titled "Policies for the Future of Agriculture and Food in Romania" represents a validation of the efforts to modernize the Romanian agricultural sector. The report, prepared by the OECD Secretariat, was the basis for the evaluation conducted by the OECD Committee for Agriculture (COAG) and confirms that the policies implemented by Romania are aligned with international standards.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) emphasizes the strategic importance of agriculture for the national economy and food security, highlighting the progress in utilizing European funds to increase the efficiency of the sector. The report provides recommendations for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Romanian agriculture, and MADR will continue to collaborate with OECD experts to integrate these findings into national strategies. The objective remains to create an agricultural sector capable of facing climate and market challenges, ensuring the prosperity of rural communities.
