Romania will implement a new type of paid leave aimed at professional recovery, according to a legislative initiative currently under debate in the Senate. Employers will be required to inform employees about the risks of professional burnout and prevention methods. The project aims to create a regulatory framework that addresses professional burnout, a phenomenon increasingly common in the labor market.
Employers with more than 50 employees will have additional obligations, including the development of an annual prevention plan and the assessment of psychosocial risks. Additionally, employees will be able to request paid leave for professional recovery without needing medical justifications. The project emphasizes the importance of protecting the psycho-emotional health of employees and provides a legal framework for preventing burnout, recognizing professional stress as a major risk factor.
