In comparison, countries such as Denmark and Estonia have allocated more substantial funds. Romania offers support close to that of Italy and Spain; however, in absolute terms, the contribution of the United States is significantly larger. The Fiscal Council states that Romania's record budget deficit is not caused by the aid given to Ukraine, but by fiscal measures and poor planning. Aid for Ukraine is seen as an investment in the security of Romania and Europe.
