The Presidential Administration has signed a consulting contract worth 565,000 dollars per month with Eversheds Sutherland to represent Romania in its relationship with the USA.

The Presidential Administration has announced the conclusion of a strategic consulting contract with the American firm Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP, aimed at representing Romania's interests alongside the Government and Congress of the United States. The contract, with a maximum value of 565,000 dollars per month, is initially for a duration of six months and targets strategic objectives such as increasing defense capacity, attracting investments, integration into international structures, the free movement of Romanian citizens, and combating transnational crime.

The decision was made based on a political agreement between pro-Western parliamentary parties and aligns with the constitutional responsibilities of the President in the field of foreign policy.

Eversheds Sutherland, with experience in government relations in Washington, is presented as a common choice for allied states that wish to advocate for their interests in relation to the American administration. The contract is considered a complementary tool to official diplomatic efforts, taking place in an unpredictable international context.
