Canada's Gabriel Resources initiated arbitration against Romania in 2015, seeking $3.3 billion in damages following the refusal to authorize the Rosia Montana mining project. The case was brought under the Canada-Romania and UK-Romania bilateral investment treaties. Sentencing is scheduled for February 10, 2023.
