Romania, alongside 39 other countries, coordinates international sanctions aimed at bringing Iran to the negotiating table and establishes defensive commitments to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Oana Ţoiu, the foreign minister, explained that the current format is similar to the Coalition of Will and aims to reduce navigation risks, which would contribute to lowering insurance costs for maritime transport. This would have a direct impact on oil and fuel prices.
Oana Ţoiu mentioned that the current ceasefire is a temporary measure to allow negotiations to continue, with a new meeting scheduled for April 10. Romania and the European Union are ready to actively participate in this international effort.
