Ionuț Moșteanu, the Minister of Defense, declared that Romania remains alongside Ukraine and its European partners, emphasizing that the aid provided to Ukraine is classified and should not be declassified to avoid manipulation in hybrid warfare. Moșteanu mentioned that Romania has already sent 25 military aid packages and stressed that the 10% cuts in the salary expenses of the national defense system are not a viable option, considering the war at the border. He argued that such reductions could destabilize the entire defense system, leading to exits from the system that would severely affect the army's response capability.

Additionally, Mayor Nicușor Dan reaffirmed Romania's commitment to supporting Ukraine, considering it a better neighbor than Russia. Ilie Bolojan also confirmed that Romania has contributed approximately 1.5 billion euros in support of Ukraine, which represents 0.2% of GDP, according to estimates from the Fiscal Council. This situation underscores the importance of maintaining a solid defense budget in the context of security challenges in the region.
