Eurostat data show that Romania ranks first in the European Union in the 'Food and non-alcoholic beverages' category, with prices 24% lower than the EU average. In contrast, Luxembourg and Denmark have the highest prices. Romania also ranks second in 'Recreation and culture', followed by Bulgaria. In terms of GDP per capita, Romania is at 78% of the EU average, with Bulgaria the lowest. These figures reflect purchasing power and living costs compared to other Member States.
