Oana Coiu spoke to CNN about the Neptun Deep drone case: "Russia is responsible for the risks in the Black Sea"

Oana Ţoiu, the interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Russia is responsible for the risks generated in the Black Sea, especially for the Neptun Deep gas project.

The recent incident, in which a marine drone loaded with explosives was destroyed by Romanian F-16 pilots, was considered a necessary measure to protect the infrastructure and people in the area.

Ţoiu described the situation as a form of hybrid interference, emphasizing the importance of strengthening deterrence on NATO's eastern flank. Romania has recorded over 100 air, land, and maritime incursions, and the authorities are collaborating with NATO and the USA to counter drone threats.

The minister emphasized that the incident is part of a broader strategy of hybrid threats, accompanied by disinformation campaigns that attempt to attribute these incidents to Ukraine. President Nicușor Dan condemned Moscow's actions and praised the pilots for their intervention.
