Robert Negoiță, the mayor of Sector 3, was confronted by concerned citizens regarding the Recorder's revelations about the illegal construction of 11 asphalt roads over gas pipelines. During a meeting with residents, Negoiță suggested that the questions coming from them were motivated by a "fear" and asked Transgaz to close the roads if there was a danger.
Although he claimed that the roads had always existed, citizens contradicted this statement, emphasizing that the area was initially cultivated. The Recorder's investigation showed that the City Hall did not obtain approvals from Transgaz, which had notified the local administration about the risks involved. Negoiță was accused by a whistleblower of ignoring the warnings from specialists, prioritizing personal interests to the detriment of public safety (the roads serve the apartment neighborhoods built in Sector 3 by his brother, Ionuț Negoiță). Transgaz has filed a lawsuit against the City Hall for these illegal constructions.
