According to a report by the organization Save the Children, 33.8% of Romanian children live at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2024, exceeding the EU average of 24.2%. Children from rural areas have a risk of 41.7%, and 75.8% of those with parents with low education are in this situation. Romania ranks third in the EU regarding child poverty, with 1.255 million affected children. Victor Negrescu emphasizes the urgent need for investments in children to avoid a more impoverished future.
