A 65-year-old woman from Cluj-Napoca was caught in the act by the police officers of the Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances Service while she was trying to sell firecrackers to an undercover investigator. The incident took place in the Mănăștur neighborhood, where the retiree was offering pyrotechnic items from categories P1 and F2, without having authorization.

Following the intervention, the police confiscated approximately 1,700 kg of illegally held pyrotechnic items. Investigations are ongoing under the coordination of the competent prosecutor's office, and legal measures will be taken subsequently.

Additionally, legislation in Romania has changed, and the use of firecrackers and fireworks is now prohibited, with severe penalties for those who do not comply with the new regulations. The sale of these products online remains a problem, as many websites do not adhere to current legislation.
