A resident doctor from Floreasca Hospital was found dead in the bathroom of the medical unit. The police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of death.

A resident doctor in the last year at the Floreasca Emergency Hospital in Bucharest was found dead on Saturday afternoon in the hospital's bathroom, in cardiac arrest.

A cleaning woman noticed that the doctor had not come out of the bathroom and alerted a stretcher-bearer, who entered to check the situation, according to Digi24. Doctors attempted to resuscitate him for an hour, but without success.

The resident, who was to take the specialty exam this year and planned to transfer to the hospital in Giurgiu, did not show any known symptoms of illness. The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death, which will be established through a forensic examination.
