Adrian Ștefănică, mayor of Remetea, has been sentenced to 2 years and 4 months in prison for participating in an illegal hunting that led to the death of forester Marius Laza. The court emphasized the defendants' lack of empathy and their attempt to cover up the incident. Despite being involved in the poaching, Ștefănică continued hunting after the tragedy. In addition to a prison sentence, the court ordered the confiscation of weapons and a ban on holding public office.
