According to the data presented by the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, in the third quarter of 2025, there were over 200,000 fewer medical leave days recorded compared to the same period in 2024, resulting in a saving of 310 million lei in the medical leave budget. This decrease was particularly significant, reaching almost 28% starting from July, when strict legislative measures were implemented. The minister emphasized that these measures, along with the controls carried out in healthcare units, have contributed to reducing abuses related to medical leave. Rogobete stated that he will continue to uphold responsibility and correctness in the healthcare system, emphasizing that it is unacceptable to pay for unjustified medical leave.
