Radu Miruță, the Minister of Economy, announced that only one director from the state-owned companies under the ministry accepted to reduce their salary, following public pressure. He emphasized that, during his term, he noticed that many directors from these companies were not interested in salary but rather in control over profitable businesses. Miruță exemplified with a company that tried to sell a piece of land worth millions of euros to repair a gate, highlighting the abuses and unjustified contracts within state-owned companies. He also mentioned that he discovered dubious deals, such as a contract for 800,000 lei for a 30-second video, suggesting that the money was not used appropriately. The minister promised that he would continue to investigate these practices and improve transparency in the management of state-owned companies.
