Radu Marinescu, the Minister of Justice, stated that the decision of the Constitutional Court (CCR) regarding the law on the service pensions of magistrates did not surprise him, anticipating an outcome following previous developments. He emphasized that solutions in the judicial field should be rational, without emotions.

The CCR's decision rejected the objection of unconstitutionality raised by the High Court of Cassation and Justice, thus allowing for the reduction of magistrates' pensions and the increase of the retirement age. Marinescu highlighted that the reform was carried out with the support of the PSD, mentioning that the law was initiated by the Ministry of Labor, led by a PSD member, and co-initiated by the Ministry of Justice. He reaffirmed the commitment to social equity, including by raising the retirement age to 65 years.
