The Conservative Liberal Humanist Party (PUCL) adopted a resolution on Friday, October 9, at the Palace of Parliament, inviting conservative and liberal political and civic organizations to participate in a common platform. The initiative seeks to bring together groups that support protecting the family, national identity, economic freedom, and respect for human dignity.
The resolution was adopted at a meeting of PUCL’s National Permanent Bureau, held in the “Nicolae Iorga” Hall, which was also attended by MEP Claudiu Târziu, president of the Conservative Action Party. He welcomed PUCL’s shift from a social-liberal to a conservative-liberal identity and advocated bringing conservative movements closer together.
The platform proposes ten principles, including a free-market economy, the rule of law, firm membership in NATO and the European Union, protecting the family, promoting national culture and traditions, respecting religious values, and supporting vulnerable groups. The document also calls for the depoliticization of public administration, guarantees of freedom and human dignity, including in relation to artificial intelligence, and stronger social cohesion.
PUCL specifies that the initiative does not, for the time being, represent the announcement of an electoral alliance or merger. The change to the party’s name was approved by the Bucharest Tribunal following the Congress held on July 17, 2026. The party announces that its lawmakers and other interested elected officials will initiate legislative proposals inspired by the platform’s principles.
