PSD Deputy Mihai Weber was forced to return a Mercedes AMG GLE 53, purchased through leasing by his company in Gorj, after a check carried out by ANAF inspectors. The checks revealed that the luxury car had been used for personal purposes, which led to the establishment of non-deductible expenses for several months.

The ANAF action was initiated based on a risk analysis, considering Weber's notoriety as a public official. The control aimed to verify the correct use of the vehicle in economic activities, and the results confirmed that the car had been used in activities unrelated to the company. ANAF did not mention the names of the individuals involved in the official announcements, according to the legislation regarding tax secrecy.
