Approximately one hundred members of the "Alternativa 2002" Union from Azomureș will protest in front of the Ministry of Energy, accusing the authorities of a lack of response to the risk of the definitive closure of the only domestic fertilizer producer. The protesters demand the resumption of the plant's activity or solutions to protect jobs and limit the social and economic impact on Mureș County. The unionists are calling for a real dialogue with the Ministry of Energy and support measures for affected families.

The Swiss company Ameropa, owner of Azomureș, has had negotiations with Romgaz for a possible takeover, and the discussions are at an advanced stage. Recently, Azomureș notified the union about the initiation of a collective layoff plan, and the unionists warn that delaying decisions could lead to the complete closure of the platform, affecting agriculture and the local economy.
