Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan sent congratulations on Monday to Rumen Radev for his clear victory in the legislative elections in Bulgaria. Bolojan emphasized that, as neighbors, Romania looks forward to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as promoting common priorities within the European Union and NATO.

Additionally, the prime minister mentioned the need to continue efforts to improve regional connectivity and strengthen the security of the eastern flank and the Black Sea region. Rumen Radev, former Bulgarian president, obtained an absolute majority in the elections, committing to combat corruption and political instability in Bulgaria, the poorest country in the European Union, according to official results published on Monday.
