Raed Arafat: "There is a risk of explosion, impact over a radius of 4.4 – 4.7 km" in Plauru

The head of DSU, Raed Arafat, warns that there is a "real risk of explosion" in the Plauru area, following the fire that broke out on the vessel loaded with LPG located on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube. Arafat stated that technical assessments indicate the possibility of an impact within a radius of 4.4 – 4.7 kilometers, which is why the authorities are treating the scenario as serious until the fire is extinguished. He confirmed that the evacuation of the localities of Plauru and Ceatalchioi is necessary for the safety of the population and that people will be able to return home only after any risk has been eliminated.
