Radu Miruță announced the first positive effects of the intervention at Cernavodă, where, on August 3, the Stânca de la Pârjoaia was detonated to divert a larger amount of water from the Danube towards the nuclear power plant.
The interim Minister of Defense confirmed that the water level has risen by 2 cm, in contrast to the forecast which anticipated a decrease.
“Considering that the forecast indicated a decrease of 2cm, we can say that yesterday's operation brought a net gain of at least 4cm, meaning another 2 days of operation in addition just from the stages up to now. Congratulations, ANAR, for the solution!” said Radu Miruță.
The mission involved the mobilization of over a hundred soldiers, using 16 special vehicles and 100 kg of explosives, aimed at directing the water towards the Old Danube to ensure the cooling of the nuclear reactors.
