Donald Tusk's government has won a vote of confidence, with 243 votes in favor and 210 against, after suffering a setback in the June 1 presidential election won by nationalist Karol Nawrocki. Tusk emphasized the importance of the vote to end speculation about the stability of the pro-European government. Nawrocki, backed by PiS, could seek to undermine the authority of Tusk's government, and the prime minister has said he is open to cohabitation but prepared for confrontation.
