On Monday, Ilie Bolojan had a meeting with the parliamentarians of the National Liberal Party, establishing that all liberals will be present at the censure motion proposed by PSD-AUR, but will remain in the benches without voting. The strategy of "present, not voting" was adopted to prevent betrayal of the party line, considering that the vote will be secret.
Daniel Fenechiu, the leader of the PNL senators, stated that the liberals will not betray the leadership and that voting against the motion would be political suicide for the party. Additionally, the president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, announced that the parliamentarians of the Union will adopt the same strategy, hoping that not enough votes will be gathered to overthrow the government. In this context, the absence of some PNL parliamentarians who are on delegations abroad could influence the final outcome of the vote.
