Phoenix Media and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) have announced the launch of the Phoenix Media Public Safety Awareness project, aimed at informing citizens about public order and emergency situations. Through this public-private partnership, the digital panels, initially dedicated to advertising, become official communication channels in case of emergencies. MAI and IGSU have direct access to a network of over 170 digital panels in Bucharest and 17 other cities, allowing alerts to be broadcast in less than a minute.

So far, 16 alerts have been transmitted, mostly regarding missing children, having a significant impact, with over 2.4 million displays and reaching 9.4 million citizens. The project has been recognized at the Smart City Industry Awards Gala for innovation in the field of public safety. Phoenix Media manages digital panels in various cities, including Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, and Timișoara.
