The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, announced on Monday that the Petromidia Refinery, operated by Rompetrol, has resumed its activity and is functioning at maximum capacity for Romania. The maintenance work was completed quickly, ensuring the necessary petroleum products throughout the duration of the interventions. The refinery covers approximately 27% of the domestic consumption of diesel and gasoline, having in 2025 a refining capacity of 5.9 million tons, of which 5.4 million tons of crude oil. The production included 5.8 million tons of finished products, of which 1.66 million tons of gasoline and 2.52 million tons of diesel.

Bogdan Ivan emphasized that the available volumes are primarily directed towards the own network of stations, ensuring the continuity of supply. Additionally, in case of critical situations, there is the capacity to quickly mobilize the necessary volumes to meet demand. The system is functioning normally, and the stocks are managed responsibly, guaranteeing continuous supply.
