Paul Lambrino, self-proclaimed 'Prince of Romania', will receive a final extradition decision from France on Tuesday, November 18, from the Court of Appeal in Paris. Romanian authorities are requesting his handover based on a European arrest warrant issued for serving a sentence of 3 years and 4 months in prison, following his final conviction in 2020 in the case of the illegal restitution of the Băneasa Royal Farm, with an estimated damage of 145 million euros.
If the extradition is approved, Lambrino will be brought to Romania to serve his sentence, thus closing an important chapter in a high-profile case. The Ministry of Justice relies on a decision from the Court of Justice of the European Union, which stipulates that member states must hand over convicted fugitives. In this case, Lambrino was arrested in Paris on April 7, and 18 people were convicted in the case, including Israeli businessmen.
