Two parents have been placed in preventive custody for 30 days, being accused of exploiting begging, after they forced their four children to beg on the streets of Sector 5 of the Capital, under the threat of violence. Investigators discovered that the money collected by the minors was used for rent, food, alcohol, cigarettes, and gambling.

Between November 2025 and February 2026, the parents threatened the children with acts of violence to make them ask for material help from passersby. In the same case, two young people who transported and supervised the children were placed under judicial control. The criminal investigation is coordinated by the police officers of the Criminal Investigation Service of the Sector 4 Police, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Sector 4 Court.
