Over 70 people evacuated due to gas leaks in Lugoj

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, around 4:30 PM, the authorities in Lugoj were alerted via SNUAU 112 about gas leaks on Filaret Barbu Street. The Lugoj Fire Department responded quickly, sending a first intervention vehicle and several firefighting vehicles. At the scene, firefighters identified gas leaks from a distribution point.

So far, the intervention teams have evacuated 70 people, including 15 adults and 20 children from the Lugoj Palace building. Firefighters continue to evacuate from neighboring buildings within a radius of 100 meters, and police and gendarmerie teams are also present. No requests for medical assistance have been recorded.
