The Oradea Local Council decided on Thursday to cancel small debts to the local budget, specifically those of up to 40 lei, outstanding as of December 31, 2025. The measure targets both individuals and legal entities and will erase claims totaling nearly 34,000 lei. This decision, based on the Fiscal Procedure Code, aims to reduce bureaucracy and administrative costs, considering that recovering these amounts would generate higher costs than their value. According to data, 5,879 individuals and 1,096 legal entities will benefit from this measure, and local authorities emphasize that the cancellation of debts will not affect the city's budget but will simplify the work of officials.
